After the end period of lockdown, builders carry out even more intense work on our new site at Dorehouse Business Park in Sheffield. Working through the eased, but still restrictive coronavirus pandemic regulations, our construction staff always adhere to social distancing rules. The bespoke new factory is expected to be open at the end of Summer 2021.
Our Managing director James Kitching said: “Teams are now set up and working on the site to deliver this manufacturing project, which is a part of the continued development of Sheffield as a steel heritage centre.
For the last 200 years we have been manufacturing popular and specialised machine knives to customers across a wide range of industries. The new relocation project will provide us with capacious storage, ample manufacturing room, and spacious offices. Already our construction project looks very promising, and the main frame of the building is now up!
Moving to a larger factory enables us to progress with our ambitious business plans for further growth and development. Such as further improvement of our customer support by increasing our stock, accommodating more machinery, and decreasing turnaround times.
Our new factory will enhance Sheffield’s heritage as a world centre of steel manufacturing and ultimately provide a better support to all potential users of machine knives. As James notes: “it will also secure jobs for the Fernite’s staff and so we’re delighted to be working on this project”.
