Problems with dull guillotine blades:

• dull blades rip or crush instead of slicing
• lack of precision with misaligned or skewed cuts
• blades drag and tear causing the stack to move or jam

Also, dull blades can place added strain on your equipment, causing unnecessary wear and tear as machines work harder to maintain performance.

During guillotine blade sharpening, we remove the uneven or worn areas. But don’t worry, only half a millimetre, or even less for tungsten carbide blades will be ground off. As a result, the guillotine blade will retain most of its original thickness, allowing for many more sharpening cycles over its lifetime.

Overusing dull guillotine blades and not undertaking a regular sharpening service can lead to more serious blade chips and damage.

This results in sharpening being impossible, requiring a new paper guillotine blade.
