This week we have been delighted to welcome the newest member of our production team – Lewis, our new manufacturing
We have teamed up with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), a partnership between the University of Sheffield and the engineering and manufacturing sectors in the Sheffield City Region.
Through the AMRC training centre apprenticeship scheme, young people seeking a career in manufacturing are offered specialist training and the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills in a working environment.
Fernite of Sheffield Managing Director James Kitching said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Lewis to the Fernite team, and to the world of work in the manufacturing sector.
“It’s an exciting time to join the business – in recent months we have expanded into new global markets, and made significant investment into technology to ensure we continue to innovate and deliver products which solve our customers’ problems.
Our new machinery gives us the capability to manufacture an ever-expanding range of products
“As a growing local business, investing in the next generation of manufacturing professionals is crucial to our success. As technology improves
“Our partnership with the AMRC means our apprentices not only benefit from working with our expert team and advanced technology, but also from the first class training that the AMRC training centre provides.
“We’re passionate about supporting young people into a rewarding career in advanced manufacturing, and I wish Lewis all the very best as he begins his journey .”
