The Fernite Questionnaire

What do you like about Fernite?

I am fortunate to work with friendly and approachable colleagues who are always willing to share their knowledge and experience. The work is varied and challenging meaning that no two days are the same.

What is your favourite quote?

“Do I not like that” Graham Taylor (Former England Manager) or the poem  “ If” by Rudyard Kipling.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

Canary Islands, in particular, Peurto Del Carmen in Lanzarote. I enjoy the long walk along the cliff tops to Peurto Calero in morning and catching the water taxi back finishing off with a nice cool beer in a beach bar.

Which super-hero would you like to be and why?

John Sheridan would be my super-hero  – The greatest Sheffield Wednesday footballer of my generation

If you could pick anything to be really good at what would it be?

As a keen golfer, I would love to be better than I am.

What is your favourite day trip?

As a family we like to visit our daughter in the North East and combine this with a trip to the coast at South Shields.

What are your hobbies & a bit about them?

I enjoy playing golf with my friends at the weekend. I have been a member of both Dore & Totley and Hillsborough golf clubs but more recently have enjoyed playing many of the high quality golf courses in Yorkshire and Derbyshire. I like to watch football and enjoy pottering around the garden in the summer.

What is your favourite drink?

I like a nice Malt whisky with a preference for Glenmorangie.

What do you dream of?

I’m not much of a dreamer but it would be nice to make a single figure handicap at golf one day and if not a hole in one would be nice!

What things do you like?

I am fortunate to have a good family and have been married for 32 years. We have two daughters who have worked hard to achieve good degrees and careers in law and psychology.

What do you dislike?

Long, dark and cold winter months.
