Fernite of Sheffield is an amalgamation of two respected machine knife makers established since 1832, Joseph Fearnehough & Sons Limited and Elsworth Limited, both having a reputation for supplying machine knives of the highest standards into a wide range of world markets built up over more than 170 years of trade.

The company combines the traditional skills associated with heat treatment, straightening and grinding, together with investment and training in the latest computerised technology resulting in a production capability to the highest repeatable quality standards.

Quality knives are made from steel sourced only from major accredited producers, and include stainless, tool and high speed steels and powder metals. Our extensive expertise is available to advise on the optimum specification for your application.

To ensure that your requirements are met, all manufacturing processes are carried out on our premises, commencing with steel from our own stockholding operation to give full control at all stages, monitored by inspection procedures in accordance with our Quality Accreditation, manufacturing to O.E.M. standards and specifications.
